Grants Offered 2020-21
It’s that time of year again and we are pleased to announce that our RIN Grants Programme is now open for applications. We support groups and charities working in or across the following areas: West Norwood, Balham, Tooting, Tulse Hill, Brixton and Streatham (postal codes SW2, SW12, SW16, SW17, SE21, SE24 and SE27).
In 2020 we awarded around £40,000 in small grants to 22 local groups that are working to support individuals and create resilient communities in the above areas. They provide a range of services that include social and advice opportunities for older people; community food growing projects ;food bank; youth music, girls football and youth training; mental health first aid training for volunteers; intergenerational work; a baby equipment bank; day centre facilities for rough sleepers, drop in centre for refugees; support for families living in temporary accommodation:a support group for women asylum seekers; access to community arts events for older people; horticultural training for adults with poor mental health or disability and much more.
In a year that has been overshadowed by the COVID-19 pandemic we could not be more proud of these groups and others who have stepped up to feed, protect and support so many in their local communities. In a time of such uncertainty this is a shining example of the best of community action.
In the light of this we want our 2021 grant programme to focus on those who have suffered or may suffer because of the COVID threat. We have been able to add an additional £10,000 to our funding pot to help support physical, mental and financial health and well-being within the communities that we reach into.
The closing date for funding for 2021 is Monday 11th January so there’s plenty of time to get an application in. If your group and its work fits with our interests and criteria (see the Guidance sheet) then please send us a form.
